He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
In this the love of God was manifested toward us,

There are so many doing hateful things in the name of God ...
Nothing about God equals hate.
GOD IS LOVE.
It's as simple as that.
He wants us to "love the sinner, but hate the sin.
Meaning
We hate sin by refusing to take part in it... when we see it. Sin is to be hated, not excused or taken lightly. We love sinners by being faithful in witnessing to them of the forgiveness that is available through Jesus Christ. A true act of love is treating someone with respect and kindness even though he/she knows you do not approve of their lifestyle and/or choices.
Keep in mind that God isn't going to judge us on what people do to us,
He is going to judge us on what we do to them.
